Mental Health Day
The Mental Health Recovery Network which is comprised of a number of inner city organisations celebrated Mental Health Day at Northcott in Surry Hills on 10 October 2008. The theme for the day was Looking Forward, Looking Back: Building our vision for a Mentally Healthy Society in 2020 and it aimed to increase community awareness of mental illness, and to promote mental wellbeing.
The event was attended by 150 consumers, carers, community members as well as service providers, both government and non-government.

The Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre was proud to be a participant organisation in Mental Health Day. One of our TAFE Students, Beverley Brougham, was assigned the event as a project, and she prepared the a report which was submitted as part of her studies. Click here to download the report.
